Over the past weekend, one of the biggest stories in gaming was Xbox Game Pass’ new 15-hour limit on playtime through the Cloud, set to arrive this November. The new limit means even with the highest subscription, you’d still have to pay for extra hours beyond this upcoming threshold. Naturally, we had to think about this for a while, especially with how we’ve mused in the past on Game Pass and its big push into mobile through streaming. And, for what it’s worth, I think that this signals the end of Xbox Game Pass as a significant force on mobile. Now, I don’t mean that Game Pass will no longer be a big money spinner for Microsoft on smartphones, far from it.
