The Best Android Games With Controller Support – Updated!

Mobile gaming is great, right? That’s probably why you’re on a website about Android gaming. But sometimes touchscreen controls just don’t cut it. Sometimes you want to attach a controller and feel dirty buttons under your thumbs. That’s why we’ve written a list that features the Best Android Games With Controller Support. There’s a decent mix, from platformers to fighters, action games to racers.

The Best Android Games With Controller Support

Right, let’s give a rundown of the games.

Terraria – 4.6 Score On Google Play

A great mix between a build-’em-up and a platformer. Terraria might have been around for a while, but it’s still one of the best games on Android. And with a controller it’s even better – build, fight, survive, build some more. Terraria is a premium game and you’ll get everything it has to offer for one up-front payment.

Call of Duty: Mobile – 4.2 Score On Google Play

Probably the best multiplayer shooter on mobile, and it’s even better with a controller. Packed full of modes and guns to unlock, there’s always something to do and someone to shoot, and it’s always getting new stuff.

Little Nightmares – 4.0 Score On Google Play

This bleak and creepy platformer lets you use a controller to navigate, and you might need it to stay one step ahead of the horrid creatures that haunt its halls. Use all your skill and cunning to succeed in a world that’s much too big for you.

Dead Cells – 4.8 Score On Google Play

If you want to face the terrifying, ever-shifting island kingdom of Dead Cells, then controller is the best way to travel. Dead Cells is a rogue-like metroidvania where you play a strange sentient blob piloting a dead body in place of its head.

You navigate through the dangerous halls, fight enemies, and pick up new upgrades and weapons. It’s not an easy ride, but it’s more than worthwhile.

My Time At Portia – 4.0 Score On Google Play

A great twist on the Stardew-esque genre where you take on the role of a builder in the remote town of Portia. It has a bit of everything, from building, to befriending or romancing the residents, to action RPG adventures in the dungeons.

You can also go and challenge most townsfolk NPCs to a public fistfight, a feature we strongly feel every game like this should have. I like to fight the rival builder at every town meeting just to everyone knows who the top dog is.

Pascal’s Wager – 3.1 Score On Google Play

A brilliant 3D action adventure with thick and juicy combat, gorgeous graphics and a gloomy story that’ll keep you riveted. It’s good with touchscreen, it’s even better when you’re playing with a controller – console-quality gameplay with console-quality controls. Pascal’s Wager is a premium game, with IAPs for DLC.

Final Fantasy VII – 3.9 Score On Google Play

This iconic RPG is out on Android and it’s controller-friendly, too! Head out on a truly epic adventure that takes you from the streets of the metropolis of Midgar to try and save the planet from a terrible and existential threat.

Alien Isolation – 4.0 Score On Google Play

You can tackle this terrifying monster survival horror on the Android platform, and it’s easily compatible with the Razer Kishi. In Alien Isolation you explore the Sevastopol Station, a space station descending into chaos as an extraterrestrial apex predator stalks its hall. Do whatever you can to survive.

Blasphemous – 4.1 Score On Google Play

Mix Dark Souls, Metroidvania, and someone’s intense Catholic guilt and you get Blasphemous, a brutal 2D Souls-like which takes a lot of inspiration from cathedral aesthetic. If rather than serenity you were aiming for torment and impeccably-timed parries.

MO: Astray – 4.6 Score On Google Play

Perhaps a lesser-known Steam game port, and one that could really use more postive attention, is MO: Astray. This game sees you controlling MO, an adorable little turquoise blob who wakes up to a decimated world.

While you’re squishy in both senses of the word, your unique physiology lets you bounce off walls, possess wandering creatures, and give yourself intense emotional damage by reading their minds.

DREDGE – 4.2 Score On Google Play

Set out to fish in a sea where humans aren’t necessarily the apex predator. Try to make money to keep your livelihood running, while avoiding the Terrible Things that lurk beneath the surface.

Limbo – 4.3 Score On Google Play

This one has been around a while, but if you’ve never experienced Limbo it’s well worth at least once playthrough. It’s a dark and unsettling platformer that places you in a grim, greyscale world where almost everything wants you dead. You may need all the extra control the controller support gives you to stay alive.

Subnautica – 4.9 Score On Google Play

It was on PC for quite some time before hitting Android, and we’re so glad it did. Subnautica is a sci-fi survival game where your spaceship crash landed on a hostile alien world dominated by oceans. Improvise and build a new life there while you try to find a way to escape… it’s more difficult than you might think.

Don’t Starve Pocket Edition – 4.2 Score On Google Play

Another survival title, Don’t Starve is a charming isometric adventure through a horrible place you got dropped in by a scoundrel. Make a camp, craft equipment, create a fire to fend of the Night Monster (there’s one of those) and make sure you find some food. The clue is in the name.

Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night – 4.1 Score On Google Play

It’s Castlevania on your phone, it’s a solid port of an excellent addition to the series, it’s a steal for the price it’s offered for, and it works great with controllers. What’s not to love?
