Launching in November 2026, T-Mix uses a system called “Picks,” which customers can put toward services such as Game Pass, streaming subscriptions and other benefits. Rather than having a fixed selection of perks, you choose where those Picks go. For those of us already paying for several subscriptions, that could be useful, depending on the final cost.
There is a catch for existing T-Mobile customers: you’ll need to switch your current plan to a T-Mix plan to take advantage of this offer. Game Pass isn’t simply being added to the plan you already have. Single-line pricing starts at $55 per month with one Pick, $75 with two Picks, or $95 with three Picks, with AutoPay and before taxes and fees. T-Mobile’s announcement doesn’t specify which Game Pass tier is included or how many Picks it requires, which are pretty big details to leave unanswered.
AdvertisementThere are also limits to how freely you can move things around. Most subscription benefits can be changed quarterly, while using Picks for a phone promotion ties them up for the length of that promotion. Unused Picks don’t roll over, and T-Mobile reserves the right to change both the Pick allotments and how many Picks a benefit requires. Before giving up an older plan, check what happens to your existing discounts, free lines and phone promotions.
I’m pretty sure this is not the pitch gamers were looking for, but it does make for an interesting debate, especially if you’re already with T-Mobile or have been considering switching. The carrier already offers subscription perks such as Netflix on select plans, so bundling services isn’t anything new for them.
However, adding XBOX Game Pass to the menu does give gamers something else to consider, though. The question is whether it saves you money once you factor in the required plan change, or whether you’re better off keeping your current plan and paying for Game Pass yourself. As for myself, I was already looking into changing my current T-Mobile plan, and this is actually tempting.
