The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Super League Thailand (MSL TH) returns for Season 2 from Sept. 11 to Oct. 18, 2026, as a qualifier for who will represent the region in the upcoming M8 World Championship.

The second season comes as MLBB celebrates its 10th anniversary and prepares to expand its international esports presence. Thailand will also host the inaugural MLBB SEA Championship Tour (MCT SEA) in December. This is before the start of the M8 World Championship Wild Card in Bangkok. This is the first time the country is hosting an M Series event.

  • The champion chooses whether they want to head straight to the M8 Wild Card or compete in the MCT SEA.

MSL TH champion gets Champions’ Choice

The MSL TH Season 2 champion will receive the Champions’ Choice privilege. This perk allows the team to choose between competing in the M8 World Championship Wild Card in Bangkok or the MCT SEA.

If the champion selects the M8 Wild Card slot, the second- and third-placed teams will represent Thailand at MCT SEA. Otherwise, the second-placed team will receive the next Champions’ Choice. The third-placed team will receive the choice if necessary.

Thailand will have two representatives at MCT SEA. One will qualify through MSL TH, while the other will receive a host-country slot.

MCT SEA offers another route to M8

MCT SEA will bring leading Southeast Asian teams into a single regional qualification pathway for the M8 World Championship.

The top two teams at MCT SEA will qualify directly for the M8 Main Stage in Istanbul, Turkiye. Meanwhile, the third- and fourth-placed teams will advance to the M8 World Championship Wild Card in Bangkok.

Hao Zhen Siew, Head of MLBB Esports, Thailand, at MOONTON Games, said Thailand is becoming an important part of MLBB’s global esports plans as the game enters its 10th anniversary.

“As MLBB marks its 10th anniversary, Thailand embodies its next chapter: a passionate, competitive market helping shape the future of global esports,” Hao said.

He further added that MSL TH, MCT SEA, and the M8 Wild Card will help connect Thailand’s local talent with the wider Southeast Asian and global MLBB esports scene.

With KOG returning to defend its title and nine other teams competing for the championship, this season will determine which Thai teams earn the opportunity to compete on the M8 World Championship.
