Just Slots introduces Vortex mechanic and VIP shop in portfolio-wide UI overhaul

The Malta-based studio is rolling out the update across all new releases, starting with Ice Vacation, as it seeks to widen access to bonus features for lower-stake players.

Mobile-first design and tiered feature purchasing have become priorities for slot studios competing for streamer audiences and lower-stake player segments. Just Slots, the Malta-based slot developer, launched its Vortex mechanic and redesigned VIP shop interface on 17 September 2026, debuting first in its Ice Vacation title.

Vortex: a lower-cost path to bonus features

Just Slots has introduced Vortex, a mechanic that gives players an alternative route to triggering bonus features without committing to a full Bonus Buy.

Players choose how many Vortex Wheels to spin and stake between 10% and 90% of a standard Bonus Buy price.

If all wheels land successfully, the player wins the full feature; if any wheel misses, the wager is forfeited and the base game resumes.

The studio positions Vortex as a way to extend feature access to players whose budgets have not typically allowed for outright Bonus Buys, while simultaneously offering a higher-variance spend path for players seeking larger bonuses than their usual stake level would otherwise support.

Nick Formosa, Head of Client Strategy at Just Slots, said:

The brand-new feature lives inside a new UI and in-game shop that we’re rolling out across the whole portfolio.’

Redesigned UI targets mobile navigation and consolidated feature access

Alongside Vortex, Just Slots has redesigned its in-game interface for mobile-first play. Core controls, spin, quick-spin, and auto-spin, have been consolidated into a single in-line cluster, positioned alongside a VIP shop button. The studio says this frees up screen space on smaller devices and reduces the number of taps required to access features.

The VIP shop brings all purchasable features, including HotSpin, Bonus Buys, and Vortex, into a single interface. Each game also receives its own branded feature set within the shop. In Ice Vacation, the studio’s latest release, those options are the Arctic Bonus at 150x the bet, the Polar Bonus at 250x, and the Frozen Bonus at 500x.

Rollout begins with Ice Vacation, extending across new releases

The updated UI and Vortex mechanic are live now in Ice Vacation, with Just Slots confirming the changes will continue rolling out across all forthcoming titles. The studio has flagged feature-hunting players and streaming communities as key audiences for the update.

Just Slots expanded its distribution network in February 2026 through a partnership with BlueOcean Gaming, adding to existing agreements with SOFTSWISS, Stake.com, Alea, Elantil, and iGamingDeck. The studio has not confirmed which specific operators or platforms will carry Ice Vacation at launch beyond its existing distribution agreements.
